PATH TO THE ESSENTIALS Provided foundation for the Essentials work: »AACN Futures Task Force Report (2015) » Common APRN Doctoral Level Competencies (2017) »AACN Vision for Academic Nursing Education White Paper (2019) – Published in Journal of Professional Nursing in July-August 2019. WHAT WE LEARNED FROM OUR PRACTICE PARTNERS “There is inconsistency among graduates (across all degree levels) in terms of knowledge, skills, abilities. There is variability in length/expectations of programs. We are not sure what your ‘product’ is.” “If all programs are accredited, and that is the measure of the quality of a program--- how can there be variability in the product?

No, it doesn't. And as I said, reasonable question, because our former 90-day rule, going back a number of years, did pertain to the issuance of a license. This 60-day rule only pertains to submitting your application within 60 days. Some nurses asked, "Well, when does the 60 days begin?" And I think that's a fair question too, and you'll find that within our FAQs. And the answer, obviously, is when you have moved to a new state with the intent of being a resident of that state. Of course, in question number two, which application do I need to complete, or is there anything I need to do?

They make all the decisions about whether an item go or stay. Bias is bad. Difference may not be bad. Differences can be biased, but it may not be. If an item shows DIF, it could mean three things. First, although the statistics were positive for DIF, there is no evidence from reading the item itself that DIF exists. When the DIF panel review the item that's identified by statistical methods that has DIF, the panel thinks there is nothing wrong with the item after reviewing it. And this is pretty common.

A recent large, mixed-methods study of nursing education found that clinical experiences with actual patients are critical to prelicensure nursing education.4 We don’t have data on the minimum num- ber of hours of clinical experience that RN or LPN programs should have, though we do know that the United States lags behind other countries in the num- ber of clinical hours required of prelicensure students.8 When the pandemic caused practice settings to close their doors to nursing students, many nursing programs, after consultation with their BONs, began to use simulation with social distancing or virtual simulation or both,2 simply because there were no other options.

It is important to note that in the CAT exam, skipping items or reviewing previous questions are not allowed. In the NCLEX CAT exam, case study scenarios that match your ability estimate will be selected for you. The selection of the case study scenario is based on the average difficulty of its six items. When a case study scenario is selected, its six items representing recognized cues, analyzing cues, prioritized hypothesis, generate solutions, take actions, and evaluate outcomes are ready for you to answer in the correct order. Your ability estimate will be updated every time you answer a question, but there is no adaptive feature implemented within the case study scenario.

The draft revision is sent to nursing regulatory bodies that use the NCLEX for licensure decisions to gather additional feedback. The NEC moves the recommended draft test plan to the NCSBN board of directors. The final step is a vote from the delegate assembly during the NCSBN Annual Meeting. As you can see, there are a few slight adjustments in the 2023 NCLEX-RN test plan category percentages. This is a result of the data analysis of the NCLEX-RN practice analyses. Comparably, there are no category percentage adjustment recommendations in the 2023 NCLEX-PN test plan.

That report is complete. It's being reviewed right now by staff members. There is a nursing regulatory reform project going on. This one, I put it in here as nurse aide. I have to be honest with you. It's called support worker, but I will argue to all of you out there, we might want to reconsider that's a pretty big elephant to eat.
