Aug. 19 – 21, 2015 | Chicago 2015 ANNUAL MEETING About This Illustration “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.” –Mother Teresa The NCSBN 2015 theme, “A United Mission For Regulatory Excellence,” is at its surface deceptively simple – unity equals excellence. Beginning with the launch of the exam in January of 2022, the test plan outlined the scoring methodology that would take place. This scoring model consisted of the traditional dichotomous approach, scoring all items as either right or wrong. As the nurse regulators in British Columbia and Ontario continually strive for improvement and excellence, an exciting project is on the horizon. Beginning in January of 2026, partial credit scoring will be added to the existing dichotomous scoring. This is indeed exciting news. This scoring approach is associated with several added benefits. But before we dive into the details of partial credit scoring, I'd like to touch on a few other points.
