I have preceptors who have a much easier time creating targeted interventions to meet and fill gaps. My evaluations are objective. I have a simplified and objective documentation platform. I have decreased my progress review time, the time that I spend and my nurses spend in a progress review meeting from 60 minutes to 20 using this tool.

But I remember those first steps. And that took a long time to really get our hands on what we really could focus on, what we needed to focus on. - And I think that that was...

So how does 3 Good Things work as an intervention? Martin Seligman created this with his colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania. The first time it was published as a randomized controlled trial was in 2005. And what did they do? They had people, every day for a week…now, I know this sounds hokey. When I first heard about this intervention, my reaction was like, "Really? You're going to write down three things that went well that day every day for a week? That sounds cheesy. I mean, come on, man, I got real problems here."

So first and foremost, let's talk about the candidate experience. This is something you may not have seen before. Okay? So take that in for a moment, the idea that maybe you can NCLEX online. Has it always been online? Yes, right? But in testing centers. Okay? So we're thinking about the possibility. Again I note, the possibility of the ability of candidates to maybe take that outside of their traditional testing centers. Okay? I assume you're thinking the same thing I thought about as soon as I heard this proposition. What about security? Definitely something that we have on our minds, right?

And I think all of the objectives that were put forth to you, were deemed as being very important. So, I'm not going to go into great detail about this, but I will tell you that we did not make any changes to the purpose, in reviewing the purpose. We did not make any changes to the values.

And then those other individual factors are what the nurse themselves or the candidate brings to the bedside or brings to the care of that client themselves. So what experience did you have in clinical? What's their knowledge base? Any other experiences, like for instance, when I was in nursing school, I was a nurse extern as well, and I worked in a pharmacy. So I had a lot of different experiences that I brought to the table that were even above and beyond what I was learning in school and in clinical. So those are sort of those Layer 4, sort of, kind of extraneous factors that go into our everyday care of the client. - Thank you, Emily.

And so it's just an exciting time as we spend the day with you to, not only tell you what we've found out but to answer all your questions. So I encourage you, every one of you, ask all the necessary questions throughout the day. There'll be question-answer periods that you could do that with. And I encourage you because the more you interact with us, the better information we have. And so I will close with that and let you to get to the heart of what this conference is all about, and I wish you the best again.
