The next scoring rule is called the plus/minus scoring rule, and it's derived from Signal Detection Theory, which characterizes the process of identifying signal over noise. Examinees earn points by endorsing, by selecting, the correct information or options. However, when selecting incorrect information and incorrect options, they are offsetting points. Therefore, when identifying more signal that is more correct information, the examinees earn more points. Importantly, this scoring rule only applies to multi-point items that have no constraints on the number of selectable options.

The ATT email will be sent to the email address provided when registering. Candidates must have their ATT email to schedule an appointment to take the NCLEX. ATT Validity Dates The ATT is issued by email once the NRB declares a candidate eligible to test and registration through Pearson is complete. Each ATT is valid for a period of time specified by the NRB (the average length of an ATT is 90 days).
