We have several academic practice partnerships with Emory Healthcare and the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. And the one that I'm closely affiliated with is the pre-licensure cohort called InEmory, which is a cohort that we have a lot of our nurses teach in, and we do all their clinical learning at our hospitals. And when we started this project and started hiring those nurses, we saw them transitioning to independent practice about a week faster than their counterparts. So, we know that the partnership is advantageous to us from...in terms of the nurses' readiness to be independent. But we also have DEUs, and we just recently started an apprenticeship program that I got some funding for.

Matt Diehl is also acknowledged for his patient handling of study materials. Finally, the assistance of Rosemary Gahl in preparation of this document was essential to completion of this study.

There, of course, is still issues with numbers of faculty and prepared faculty in the educational arena to really educate the students that want to come in. - Right, thank you. I think you've given us a very good look at the current environment, but now I want to project ahead a little bit. So, NCSBN data, the last time we collected it in 2020, although we have a new study going on right now of the workforce, but in 2020, it showed us, if we look at those data, that there were an equal number of nurses retiring as there were entering the workforce.

So I was very aware of my emotional response and I chose to regulate that for his benefit and the benefit of everybody in the room because the leadership, your employees, or your customers will reflect your emotional state. And if you can remain calm, they will remain calm. So this is again, one of the key skills... And people, I put this word up here deliberately, power skills. I'm trying to remember the gentleman's name. I did a talk with the Project Management Institute, and Ashwini Bakshi, I think was his name, but he and I were chatting about it and he uses this in an article to describe what people call soft skills. And I hate the term soft skills because that implies that, you know, they're just the fluffy stuff and that doesn't really matter.

We have a way that we need this to work to maintain security and actually accomplish the goals that we had in mind, expanded access, better experience for everybody. And so we don't have a fixed date that this has to happen by. It's more like we need all these things to go well and check them off and be happy about them before we would ever launch. And we followed that with NGN as well. It turned out that, at some point, we got so close that we were able to telegraph April 2023 to people. But in the same way, if things happened that slowed it down or disrupted it, COVID certainly could have, we weren't glued to that launch date.

Instead of getting $30,000, they get $1.3 million from the federal government that said, "We don't want you to do a study, we want you to create a community health care clinic to see if this will work." And what they decide to do is create two. One in the north, one in the south, one an urban area, one in a rural area. First one's going to be at Columbia Point in Boston in a housing project. Once again... Sorry, somebody had talked about this yesterday when talking about Chicago, you know, you can have a big city with all these hospitals, and there's still these pockets where people can't get health care. That was Boston. Boston's got some of the best hospitals in the world, but if you lived in Columbia Point, you couldn't get to them.
