I'd like to ask to start things off, what would you say are the important takeaways from your findings? - I think one of the things that energized me was that there are so many good people trying to help nurses.     Upon hearing of the opportunity to serve as the consumer member on the IDBON, I called the executive director, Sandy Evans, and asked her about the role. After a 45-minute conversation, she encouraged me to contact the governor’s office and apply. Two months later I was appointed to serve the remaining two years of a four-year term and in 2013 I was reappointed to serve another four-year term.

    As I was writing notes last night for this presentation, I saw that 50% of their staff has been fired as of last night, told to, I think, evacuate the building by 6 p.m. yesterday. So certainly, as I mentioned, a lot is in flux. And so we are monitoring things in an ongoing basis.
