So are there any updates on the status of those critical nursing workforce development programs today? - Yeah, so I wish that I could report to you here live that Title VIII programs have been reauthorized, but they do remain unauthorized. That authorization did lapse in September of 2025 and continues today. However, the all-important appropriation process for fiscal year 2027 is in full swing.

Survey respondents were asked to provide two ratings for each knowledge category: importance of the knowledge category to the work they performed in their nurse prac- tice settings on a scale of 0 to 3 with 3 equaling very important; and uti- lization of the knowledge on a scale of 0 (“I do not use the knowledge”), 1 (“I recognize/recall the knowl- edge”) and 2 (“I apply/interpret/ana- lyze the knowledge”). IImmppoorrttaannccee aanndd uussaaggee The importance ratings provided by respondents ranged from 1.46 to 2.92. The knowledge categories that were least used (had the highest percentages of respondents answering “I do not use the knowledge”) were “Economics” and “Nursing research.”
