    Organizational safety and professional culture, they have all embraced the three factors, the other three factors in many ways. There's a [inaudible] that we have seen with little sleep and long work hours in the healthcare industry. In my research, advanced nurse practitioners have told me how the medical profession's culture surrounding work hours has influenced their own actions and beliefs related to sleep, where they feel they are compelled to come to work regardless of illness and fatigue. We see a culture in healthcare where napping while at work, even if it's on a break, is still considered a fireable offense.

    And what could happen because of that? This came from risk and insurance, a friend of mine, employee embezzlement just got a whole lot easier now that we're working remotely. You're not looking at your boss maybe every day. And, you know, nurses that are working in, like, medical clinics, you don't have that work from home. But there are nurses that are working from home in other types of capacities. You're not seeing your boss on a day to day basis. That, again, is distance. And, you know, this article here is work from home and the fear of the unknown.

    The most commonly used therapies were relaxation therapy (ADN 31.5% and BSN 27.7%), mas- sage therapy (ADN 13.6% and BSN 14.3%), music therapy (ADN 10.1% and BSN 14%) and imagery (ADN 13.5% and BSN 8.5%). Significantly more ADNs reported using imagery and pet therapy (ADN 6.4% vs. BSN 3.6%) and significantly more BSNs used music therapy. See Table 11. SSuummmmaarryy The majority of newly licensed nurses reported working in hospitals, mostly in medical/surgical and critical care settings. There were dif- ferences found in the work settings of ADN and BSN graduates, with BSN graduates more likely to work in crit- ical care and pediatric units and ADN graduates working more in medical/surgical units and nursing homes.

    Well, in competency-based education, and I'm trying to role-model, is you really have to be specific and make sure that your audience or your learners understand what it is that you're trying to share and get across, and what they are supposed to be paying attention to, and what their responsibility is. So what I want to do is really get to the why. Why are we doing this? Why are we proposing this transition to competency-based education? To describe the how. How we're helping schools move forward, what we're asking them to do, working with their academic-practice partnerships.

    CDA has also initiated clinical trials to compare the amount of bacteria on stainless steel, plastic and aluminum surfaces in intensive care units with that the amount of bacteria found on the same surfaces made with antimicrobial copper alloys. CDA proposes that copper alloys can lessen both cross-contamination and infection rates.
