Leader to Leader, Fall 06:Leader to Leader, April06
It is rare for a patient to experience cardiac arrest in a doctor’s office, but when this does occur, it can catch everyone unprepared. The second exercise was very ambitious, focusing on the transfer of patients from one area of the hospital to another.

Her state of legal residence is a full practice state but the three facilities that she will be routinely deployed to are located in three states that require different collaborative agreements. • BEFORE THE COMPACT • Kathleen needs to meet all the requirements of holding a license in each of the four states. This incurs considerable costs. The states have different re-licensure requirements and the required collaborative agreements are of differing lengths, in one case there is a geographic proximity requirement and in another the potential collaborating physician is about to retire. • AFTER THE STATES JOIN THE COMPACT • Kathleen obtains a multi-state license as she has well over 2080 hours of experience in her State of legal residence.

This is our Next Generation NCLEX research project. Here are some of the accomplishments for this year. We've reviewed the policies, we've considered feedback from the NCLEX program surveys, we've reviewed candidate appeals. Our committee is actually the last step in the review process when a candidate files an appeal regarding the NCLEX exam. And we conducted a final review of NCLEX items. Also, we have approved the LPN/VN Practice Analysis Survey Report that included activity and knowledge statements. These were published in the 2018 LPN/VN Practice Analysis Survey Report.

ccrnr-rn-entry-level-competencies---2019.pdf
Overarching Principles These competencies are expected not only of entry-level RNs; all RNs are ultimately accountable to meet these competencies throughout their careers relative to their specific context and/or patient population. The following overarching principles apply to the education and practice of entry-level registered nurses: 1. The entry-level RN is a beginning practitioner. It is unrealistic to expect an entry-level RN to function at the level of practice of an experienced RN. 2. The entry-level RN works within the registered nursing scope of practice, and appropriately seeks guidance when they encounter situations outside of their ability. 3.
