So, experts have a good sense of what they know and what they don't know. They're teachers and their practice is evidence-based. National Council provides an excellent pyramid, and I will send this out at times when I have questions about evidence-based practice. ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

- You know, I agree with Janet. I feel like to build those foundational skills are really important. You know, when I'm working with students, sometimes I tell them it's really difficult to get to the appropriate response if you have not built that foundation of good observation skills and good interpreting. So how though would I start doing this before their even in clinical? Well, one thing that I really feel, like, is really important in developing clinical judgment with students is to be as transparent as possible.

There's more people in the workforce, but there are also more people with mental health challenges in the workforce today. So, really, to understand that, and like I said, trying to disaggregate this across high-income and low- income countries accordingly. And then one of the key issues that came out is that there may be good intentions, there may be good practice, but that isn't always followed through into the delivery. So, we may have regulatory frameworks that really put in place quality, competence, and fitness to practice. But these may be evaded or avoided by professions of different occupations because the overall governance just doesn't have the same investment in governance to try and give that...they're understaffed, under-resourced.

So in talking with the patient, they discovered that underlying issue. What did they learn from the situation? This is their reflection part. They've learned that it's important to take time and sit down with patients and teach them something simple, even about food, good food versus bad food. So you can tell that there was a lot of learning that happened in this journal. So it's a great tool, again, for them to think about their learning, for them to be aware of these pieces of decision making in nursing, and for also you, the instructor, to see their progression.

Role impropriety and boundary problems. This is a whole category. You know, when I go to meetings of professional health programs, I hear people regularly, and for the last 20 years, I've been hearing people regularly talk about, you know, why can't we just get referrals of good old-fashioned addicts, right? Well, there isn't such a thing as a good old-fashioned addict. Human beings are complex. And the professional problems that they get sent for are not narrow. Disruptiveness and harassment, and threatening behavior in the work environment, various forms of ethical lapse and misconduct, and obviously, burnout, and various forms of physical and mental illness.

They could hire APRNs, I think. But we took that on because we had member companies that wanted to, bigger employers that wanted to set an onsite clinic up and hire a doctor. ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. And he was saying when I talked about [inaudible] "Well, the physician patient relationship is so different and so sacred compared to..."

If you could move to the slide on strategic initiative C. Thanks. So, this is an initiative that actually all the language was changed. The past strategic initiative talked about expanding the active engagement and leadership potential of all members. We received some very good comments from members in this area and the board and the chiefs and the CEO had some very intentional discussions in recognizing the needs of the membership, and therefore, refreshed and more intentional efforts on the part of the organization to address the membership.

There are a number of best practices for securing paper-and-pencil and computer-based testing events. It is beyond the scope of this paper to define a full recitation of appropriate physical security procedures, but obvious visible human proctoring is a good first step. Also, it helps testing programs in their enforcement of proper examinee testing behavior to have clear communications regarding test taker responsibilities provided to examinees in advance of the testing day. Enforcement of item copyrights.
