NCSBN Elects National Leadership and Considers New Business with its Members at its 2026 Annual Meeting

NCSBN met in Chicago Aug. 19-21, 2026, to consider pertinent association business with its members.

CHICAGO – NCSBN met in Chicago Aug. 19-21, 2026, to consider pertinent association business with its members.  

Significant actions approved include:

  • Adopted revisions to the Model Act and Model Rules.
  • Set the NCLEX Examination Fee at $350 in the United States and Australia and $570 (CAD) in Canada, effective February 2027. Learn more.

Elections to the Board of Directors:

  • President, Lori Scheidt, MBA-HCM, executive director, Missouri State Board of Nursing
  • President-Elect, Barbara Blozen, EdD, MA, RN-BC, CNL, board president, New Jersey Board of Nursing
  • Director-at-Large, Kelly Jenkins, MSN, RN, executive director, Kentucky Board of Nursing
  • Director-at-Large, Ann Oertwich, PhD, RN, executive director, Nebraska Board of Nursing
  • Director-at-Large, Missy Poortenga, MHA, RN, executive officer, Montana Board of Nursing
  • Director-at-Large, John Whitcomb, PhD, RN, CCRN, FCCM, board member, South Carolina Board of Nursing

NCSBN delegates also elected members of the Leadership Succession Committee:

  • Area II Member, Michael Payne, JD, General Counsel, West Virginia Board of Registered Nurses
  • Area IV Member, Cathy Borris-Hale, MHA, RN Nurse Specialist for Discipline & Practice, District of Columbia Board of Nursing
